MBBS seats in India are filled through NEET examination. One should qualify NEET to get into a medical college. Every year more than 10 lakhs students are appearing for the exam,but only 80k+ students are getting a seat in medical college. MBBS admissions in Tamilnadu is taking place through 15% All India Quota counselling and 85% State Quota counselling. For example,
If a college have 100 seats,then
- 15 seats are filled by AIQ counselling
- 85 seats are filled by State counselling

Many scholarships are available for MBBS students. Some of them are, 1st graduate scholarship, post-metric scholarship,state government's ST/SC welfare scholarship, BC/MBC/DNC welfare scholarship,ONGC scholarship and many more are available.
How to select college:
- You can select college according to your rank/marks.
- Always prefer top rated medical colleges
-Try to avoid colleges where annual intake is more than 100 students.
- Carefully choose the low fees college (ESIC-Chennai,Raja Mutthiya medical college and IRT perundurai medical college are government colleges with very high fees structure).
- select a college which is away from your home town, because it will help you to explore the new things.
- There is no difference between government and private medical colleges (except fees), don't hesitate to get private college,when you didn't get govt. college.
